Only Female Artists stands for recognition of remarkable female artists, creatives and leaders within the industry that is largely dominated by men. One of such female leaders is an art historian, great art enthusiast and director of Affordable Art Fair Amsterdam and Brussels - Blythe Bolton. We are happy to welcome Blythe as an ambassador of the Only Female Artists platform!
Blythe Bolton’s favorite artist from all our Only Female Artists is an inspiring young creative Esther Hoogendijk. In Blythe’s words: “The simultaneously solid and fragile qualities have me completely mesmerized. In its innovative and poetic exploration of materiality, Esther’s works seem to invite the collector to nurture them. I’m keen for this often female-ascribed act of ‘nurture’ to get a rebrand. It doesn’t have to be swaddling and puppies, it can be meditative, spiritual and curious in its nature as well.”
