Evelien Reich

Evelien Reich, former editor in chief at ELLE Decoration, chair of DDA Young Designer committee, and scout at Hearstlab joins the community of Only Female Artists as an ambassador. With her rich experience in the field of art and design, Evelien has a strong stand point about creative professionals that identify as female:

“Supporting emerging creatives has played a large role within my own professional life for a long time now. It pains me to see that within the art and design world artists identifying as women are still given fewer opportunities. I feel strongly that we all have to contribute what we can, to level the playing field and together do our utmost to create an open and equal society where everyone can thrive."

The artist who Evelien Reich would like to highlight out of the Only Female Artists platform is Anna Oudhof. “I find myself drawn to the work of Anna Oudhof, whose Boiler series is particularly fascinating to me. Her lighting sculptures, made from combining scrap copper with refined blown glass, repel and attract at the same time, and I am in awe of the way in which she transforms the ordinary into something gorgeously alien.”
